Weston Trophy
The Weston Trophy is presented to the winners of the Sheffield Second Division.
The trophy was won by Chesterfield Chess Club in 1947, 1979, 1990, 1997 and 2015.
When Chesterfield Chess Club joined the Sheffield Chess Association in 1946, it had to play in the Second Division. It won the Weston Trophy at the first attempt and gained promotion to the First Division.
In 1978 the Club, for the first time in its history, was relegated from the First Division. It immediately bounced back by again winning the Weston Trophy in 1979.
Since then Chesterfield B has won the Trophy in 1990, 1997, 2015
