High Peak Vase
This Trophy was presented to the Derbyshire Chess Association by the High Peak News (later called the Buxton Advertiser) in 1947. It was presented to the Derbyshire League winners from 1947 until 2005.
Chesterfield Chess Club were the first winners of the Trophy in 1947.
The Club won the Derbyshire league in the following years:
1947, 1952, 1953, 1954,1957, 1961, 1964, 1966, 1967, 1969, 1974, 1976, 1979, 1980, 1983, 1984, 1990, 1999,2001 and 2004
The High Peak Vase was last contested in 2005, as a result of the merger of the Derby & District Chess League and the Derbyshire County Chess Association, to form the Derbyshire Chess Association. The Derbyshire Division One winners thereafter received the Derby Trophy.
